All-season tyres are much better than summer tyres during the winter

When you have winter, and you still want to make sure that you can drive safely, you will need to use tyres that are winter approved. Summer tyres aren’t winter approved, nor are they made for winter conditions, so you can’t expect them to perform well in those conditions, and they won’t, as they aren’t designed for those conditions. When the temperature drops below zero degrees, summer tyres get hard. Summer tyres also have no tread design to cope with driving on ice and snow. This makes them a very bad and unsafe winter choice.

If you feel that the winters are not so bad that you might manage without winter tyres and they are not mandatory in the country where you live, then the all-season tyres might be the best tyres for you. Since the all-season tyres can be used all year round, you don’t have to worry about the weather forecast. You can drive just as safe during the summer as during the winter season. This makes these tyres perfect for conditions that are unpredictable and might not always warrant changing to winter tyres. If you, however, have real winter conditions, you need to have winter approved tyres to be safe. In some places, it is illegal to drive without winter tyres when you have winter conditions.

If you live in a location that only might get some winter conditions during the winter season and your vehicle to that extent that you can’t manage without it during the period when you have snow, you will either have to change to winter or use all-season tyres. Both options are good, but the all-season tyres might be the most convenient option. If you drive a high-performance vehicle and you want to make sure that you get the best performance during the dry conditions, you might not want to use an all-season tyre all year round. In these cases, you can still use them for the winter season and use the summer tyres during the summer period.

This way, you will get the best performance during the summer while still having winter protection during the winter period. This will give you the best all-year-round safety when facing winter challenges and want the optimal performance during the summer. The key is that it is not safe to drive on snow or ice with summer tyres, so you will need to find a convenient solution of how to avoid using them. Most people will combine the summer tyres with winter tyres, and alternate and some will use all-season tyres for the whole year.

When you change tyres between the seasons, the tyres are rotated to ensure that you notice differences in wear between the front and rear axles. When you use all-season tyres, you are not changing anymore between tyres, and therefore you have to make sure that the tyres are rotated during the year depending on the wear and what type of vehicle you have.
